Maclean Vets golf

Fifty five players hit off in the single Stableford last Monday January 11. We had 4 visitors from Yamba, The Cut, Murwillumbah and Iluka golf clubs join the group.

New member Glen Essex, making a return to golf, blitzed the field with 39 points to take the honours for the day. Well done Glen and good to see you back out on the course. Runner up and playing pretty consistent golf was Vets captain John Porter who finished with 35 points just ahead of Graham Millard who carded a 34.

The ball rundown went to Des Plunkett and Gunny Dickinson with 34s, Nancy Phillips, Glen Crooks, Dave Bryden, Mark Hemmy and David Lorenzo all with 33s, Richard Parker and John Carlton -32, Peter Saunders, Vero Morgan, Wayne Rae and Phil Robinson with 31s and finally Kim Wiblen with a neat 30 points. And all the rest of the field missed out.

Nearest the pins were won by Helen McFarlane and Gunny Dickinson on the 2nd, Rhoda Pedrana and Gunny Dickinson again on the 7th, Mike Emmanuel on the 11th and Vero Morgan on the 17th.

The Iluka Open Day is coming up on February 15. The nomination form is on the Vets notice board and all nominations have to be in by the end of the month.

Our next game on January 24 is a single Stableford with a shotgun start.
